I have been asked a lot about fundraisers, and how I would go about doing them.
To be honest, I have not done them in the past…but I am starting to see value in offering Fundraisers as another way of moving inventory. While you may not net as much of a profit, you will reap other benefits along the way!
Allow me to explain.
First, let’s talk about increasing your customer base. New customers and repeat customers are the lifeblood of any sales business. Without both, you are not a sustainable business, right?
Fundraisers, where you are donating a portion of your sales to benefit a particular organization, can increase your customer base if you are capturing your customers information at checkout! At the very least, you should be adding them to your VIP Facebook group. The most idea, however, would be to capture their email for a mailing list that YOU have complete control over.
Additionally, you will be moving through your inventory, which will allow you to continually purchase new items, keeping your customers engaged, and coming back for more! You also increase the likelihood that you will qualify for Life of the Party (minimum 5,000 PV between July-June), which comes with it’s own unique set of perks! (See the resources section of your back office for more info on LOP).
After thinking long and hard on fundraisers, this is what I personally have decided to offer for fundraising. ** Please note that I absolutely WILL NOT increase the price of our jewelry for a fundraiser. I will donate portions of my sales to the group, lowering my personal profit. **
Now that you can see the advantages of offering Fundraiser opportunities in your community, do you think you will give them a try? Let me know in the comments!
